The definitive work on American Indian arrow wounds suffered by U. S. troops and settlers in frontier warfare during the Western expansion of the United States. Bill eventually developed a "Forceps for the Extraction of Arrow-Heads," which he illustrated and described in Medical Record 1876, 11, 245.
